Short parts, short tracks
A 1,500 to 3,000 word part becomes about 10 to 20 minutes of Wattpad audio, a comfortable length for a bus ride or a break between classes.
For Wattpad writers
Wattpad has no export button, so Wattpad to audiobook starts with copy and paste. Paste a part or a stack of parts, and the studio splits them into chapters, gives your leads, their friends and their enemies their own AI voices, and hands you MP3s or an M4B to share with the readers who already follow you.

At the time of writing, Wattpad offers no download or export for stories, your own included, and there is no URL import here either. Copy the text from the document you drafted in, which is usually the cleanest copy, or from the Wattpad writing editor. You can also upload that draft as DOCX, TXT or Markdown.
Take the story text from your draft or the editor. Leave out images, polls, dedications and the reminders to vote and comment, since everything pasted is read aloud.
Type “Chapter 7” or a Markdown heading such as “## The Party” above each part. Lines like these become chapter breaks, so every part lands in its own track.
Speakers are detected from quoted dialogue and tags such as said or whispered. Swap any voice, preview a line and add a direction like [sobbing] where the drama peaks.
Download one MP3 per part for quick sharing, a ZIP of the whole story, or an M4B with chapter markers for readers who use audiobook apps; the free MP3 to M4B converter can add your cover.
Short parts, big friend groups and plenty of drama: a Wattpad audiobook has its own shape.
A 1,500 to 3,000 word part becomes about 10 to 20 minutes of Wattpad audio, a comfortable length for a bus ride or a break between classes.
Chat lines like “Mia: omw” are voiced by the sender when two or more sit together, one message per line. Spell out slang the voice might trip on.
Up to ten named characters get their own voices, ranked by how much they talk, with an “Other voices” role for the rest of the school or the pack.
Start a line with [sarcastic], [furious] or [holding back tears] and the Standard, Lite and Expressive models play it that way.
For each new batch of parts, start a project, apply the cast you saved and generate only what is new, so the voices never drift.
MP3 files play on any phone. M4B files open in Apple Books, BookPlayer or Smart AudioBook Player with their chapter list.
Wattpad loves a creepy house and a moonlit forest. Hear the narrator and character voices a Wattpad audiobook gets for darker stories, then recast them for yours.

A deep, comforting narrator that makes the quiet parts worse, and two strangers you shouldn’t trust.

Horror audiobook narration guidePosting a story on Wattpad does not change who owns it, but a publishing deal might. Check before you generate.
Built-in read-aloud is for one reader. A phone’s read-aloud reads a part in one voice for whoever is holding it. A voiced Wattpad audiobook is a file you make once and share with everyone: a narrator, a voice per character and chapter titles.
Audio gives readers a reason to come back. Some writers post the audio for a part a day after the text, others save it for completed books or bonus chapters. Pick what you can keep up with; a steady schedule matters more than doing every part.
Proof-listen before you post the next part. Hearing a part read aloud is the fastest way to catch a repeated word or a line of dialogue that belongs to the wrong person. The text to speech for writers page covers editing by ear in more depth.
Plan the cost by the book. A 60,000 word story becomes about six and a half hours of audio, roughly $60 to $80 with Standard voices or less with Lite. Pasting, chapter detection and casting cost nothing in the free AI audiobook generator, and new accounts made with Google sign-in get 100 gift credits (valid for 7 days, about 12 minutes on Standard; usage varies by text and voice tier) for a short sample, no card needed.
Your sequel keeps its voices. Save the cast with the first book, apply it to book two, and the characters your readers know sound exactly the same. Teen fiction in particular has its own casting needs, covered on the young adult audiobook page.
At the time of writing, Wattpad has no export or download option for stories, so the Wattpad to audiobook route is copy and paste. The cleanest source is the document you drafted in. Check Wattpad’s help pages for any change, since features move.
Not without their written permission. Publishing audio of someone else’s story on YouTube, TikTok or a podcast is sharing their work, even with credit. Ask the writer, explain that the narration is AI, and keep their reply.
Keep them as chat lines, one message per line with the sender’s name and a colon, such as “Jake: where are you”. When a paragraph holds two or more of these, each texter gets their own voice; a lone chat line stays with the narrator. Use capitalized names rather than handles, and write out emoji you want heard.
Read the agreement first. Paid programs, publishing contracts and adaptation deals can include audio rights, and in that case the audio decision may not be yours alone. If the contract is silent or the rights stayed with you, you can proceed.
Generation takes minutes per chapter, so one part is ready in a few minutes and turning a whole Wattpad story to audiobook files takes an evening. Generate one part first, listen, adjust the cast, then queue the rest.
